Foot Reflexology is a holistic therapy that has roots in ancient healing traditions from regions in Egypt and China, where therapeutic foot treatments were used to support overall health and wellbeing.
The practice is based on the principle that specific points on the feet correspond to organs, glands, and systems throughout the body. By applying gentle pressure and massage techniques to these reflex points, practitioners aim to stimulate the body’s natural healing processes, improve circulation, and restore balance.
During a reflexology session, the therapist works systematically across different areas of the feet using thumb, finger, hand or with a rounded tool. Each section of the foot reflects a different part of the body—for example:
- Toes correspond to the head and brain
- The ball of the foot reflects the heart and lungs
- The arch relates to digestive organs
- The heel corresponds to the lower back and pelvic area
By stimulating reflex points they unblock meridians (energy pathways) and promote the flow of vital energy (Qi), promoting relaxation, circulation, and potentially alleviates pain and other symptoms.
Foot Reflexology is a complementary addition to any of our massage or body therapy treatments. We offer 30 min or 45 min sessions however it can be a standalone treatment as well!
Blessings for the month ahead – stay connected and be well!
